Dan Martin
Dan Martin is the principal officer for social care at the National Children’s Bureau. He is responsible for the development and delivery of a range of national policy and practice projects, including the Safeguarding Early Adopter programme. His focus is on improving social care, front line practice and outcomes for children and young people.
Dan is a social worker and, before joining NCB, worked in a child protection team in Manchester. He has an MSc in social work and conducted research into the use of motivational interviewing in front line practice. Dan also has a longstanding commitment to promoting young people’s access to higher education and acted as a mentor for a widening participation charity and has also delivered training on routes into higher education to teachers in an inner city state school.
