This webinar will provide headteachers, governors, school leaders and teaching staff with an overview and practical insight into DfE guidance on supporting schools to maintain high levels of school attendance, due to come into effect from September 2022.

On 6 May 2022, the DfE published their guidance, ‘Working together to improve school attendance’. The document summaries the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders, support that should be provided to families, details of potential legal interventions and what schools are required to keep a record of. The guidance applies from the start of the new academic year in September 2022 and, in time, will become statutory.

In this webinar, Stephen Burnage, expert practitioner, consultant and trainer with 25+ years' experience teaching and leading schools, will explore what the guidance covers, what the impact is likely to be on schools and how senior leaders can use the guidance now to help develop and implement best practice measures for the start of the new academic year.
