This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, subject leaders, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on taking a cross-curricular approach to teaching the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) as part of an education on themes of global significance.

The UN's 17 SDGs offer powerful opportunities to involve pupils in some of the defining problems of our time, such as poverty, inequality, food security, sustainability and climate change. Studying the SDGs can bring broad-ranging benefit, enhancing pupils’ academic skills and “equipping them to be responsible, respectful, active citizens who contribute positively to society” in line with Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.

In this webinar, Tamara White, biodiversity, sustainability and climate change specialist with over 13 years’ teaching experience, highlights the salient points of the goals, including purpose and history, and explains how they can be used as a framework for the delivery of education on relevant, contemporary and urgent issues which include and engage all pupils.
