One in three children lie about their age to access adult content on social media, according to recent research commissioned by Ofcom. Attempting to explore a more adult environment prematurely not only puts young people at obvious risk of exposure to explicit content, but also increases the possibility of them becoming targets for online exploitation – whether that’s of a sexual nature; being recruited by an organised criminal gang; or subjected to radicalisation by extremist groups.

In this webinar, experienced Prevent coordinator Elizabeth Kitto outlines the common tactics and locations of these online exploitation pathways, and provides practical guidance on effectively protecting young people – particularly those who may be deliberately targeted.
