This webinar will be showcasing ways to keeps parents and teachers onboard with their school attendance policies in line with current Ofsted criteria for attendance both now and in the proposed new Framework for September 2019.

This webinar is aimed at pastoral leaders and school leaders who have ongoing concerns about school attendance and want to find new ways to improve. The webinar will be showcasing ways to keeps parents and teachers onboard with their school attendance policies in line with current Ofsted criteria for attendance both now and in the proposed new Framework for September 2019.

Attendance can be a real area for concern for school leaders. This is particularly prevalent in areas of high deprivation where persistent absenteeism puts pupils’ welfare at risk.

In the webinar we will also hear from a Sefton pastoral lead who will share some of the innovative, practical ways in which they have improved their attendance from 93.4% to 97.3% since September 2018. We shall discuss the importance of reviewing and revising attendance policies to ensure they accurately represent what you do. The Local Authorities are struggling to keep up with the demand for their attendance officers and the importance of keeping governors/trustees on board. The webinar will discuss some possible solutions.
