This webinar will provide teaching assistants with advice and practical guidance on supporting pupils with wide-ranging starting-points and needs in music lessons, through whole-class, one-to-one and small group work, to enhance engagement and attainment.

Teaching assistants form a huge part of the school workforce and are often assigned responsibility for supporting individual or groups of pupils in a wide range of subjects. There are many strategies and resources that teaching assistants can draw upon to enhance support in music lessons, irrespective of their own levels of experience in the subject.

In this webinar, Simon Rushby, ex-head of music and assistant headteacher with over 30 years’ experience, will provide insight into how class music lessons – particularly at key stages 3 and 4 – are organised and delivered, and how best to help pupils do well in music lessons.
