Secondary Languages: A Deep Dive into Curriculum Intent

This webinar, in collaboration with the Association for Language Learning (ALL), will equip headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders and teachers and practitioners with knowledge and skills to evaluate their current languages provision, and design a bold and coherent curriculum which best equips their pupils for future success, aligned with Ofsted expectations.

A fundamental reappraisal of the existing languages curriculum can inform the development of a rationale for curriculum design which truly reflects the specific needs of pupils, particularly the most disadvantaged, and those with SEND and high needs. The process of careful evaluation of intent also helps schools prepare for the possibility of an Ofsted ‘deep dive’.

In this webinar, ALL, the UK’s major subject association for those involved in the teaching of foreign languages at all levels, will encourage teachers to reflect on curriculum options within the context of their own setting, introduces the most up-to-date pedagogical ideas and resources to enhance provision, and highlights the importance of engaging all staff in the rationale for curriculum design to enhance consistent and effective delivery.
