For: Leaders, teachers, TAs
Aim: This webinar will provide you with expert insight into Ofsted’s geography subject report on the quality of geography teaching in secondary schools in England, based on findings from routine inspections. The document provides recommendations for high-quality geography provision, and complements our webinar on Ofsted’s research review series: geography.
Why this webinar’s important: On 19 September, the DfE published ‘Getting our bearings: geography subject report’, which evaluates the common strengths and weaknesses in the schools inspected, and considers the challenges that geography education faces. The document explains that the study of geography is “an unwieldy yet utterly necessary and very human project to seek order and meaning in the diversity and complexity of the world”.
