This webinar will provide governors, headteachers and schools leaders with an overview of the draft statutory guidance on schools causing concern for the 2022/23 academic year and how to work with local authorities and Regional Directors (RDs) to support school improvement and promote high standards.

On 28 March 2022, the DfE published their open consultation on supporting schools that are not making necessary improvements. The consultation aims to seek views on the government’s proposal to make all schools with two consecutive Ofsted judgments of below ‘Good’ eligible for intervention, and also provides a full draft guidance document on schools causing concern that would be indicative of changes made if the proposals were adopted. The consultation closes 23 May 2022.

In this webinar, John Rees, RSHE subject matter expert with over 25 years educational leadership experience, will explore what the new measures would mean for schools, providing a detailed insight into how local authorities would be expected to discharge their responsibilities and how schools may become ‘eligible for intervention’ under the guidance.
