This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors and trustees with expert insight into statutory guidance requiring schools to make school uniforms affordable to all, and will explore other ways that schools and colleges can help families cut costs.

The DfE’s Cost of school uniform guidance outlines the cost considerations associated with school uniform policies and uniform supplier arrangements, and also covers the provision of second-hand uniforms, other support with the costs, and the information schools and colleges should provide to parents. All schools and colleges should be fully compliant with the guidance by September 2023, with certain exceptions.

In this webinar, Matt Bromley, education writer and adviser with over twenty years’ experience as a teacher, headteacher and principal, will discuss the DfE’s Cost of school uniform guidance, explain the implications for schools, and explore other issues impacting the cost of the school day and how schools can address these.
