School Attendance: DfE Consultation on Improving Consistency of Support

This webinar will provide governors, headteachers and all school staff with an overview of the DfE open consultation on measures to improve the consistency of school attendance support and management, and explain how they can contribute to the process.

On 26 January 2022, the DfE published their ‘School attendance: improving consistency of support’ consultation paper. The document encourages schools to put forward their views on proposals to build on existing work around attendance and improving the consistency of attendance support for families across England through better, more targeted multi-agency action for the pupils who need it most. The consultation will close on 28 February 2022.

In this webinar, John Rees, experienced teacher, coach, trainer and consultant who regularly works with senior leaders to support school improvement, will help schools to understand the four main proposals outlined, the rationale behind the consultation and why it’s so important that schools use this opportunity to shape future provision.
