Claire Grimes is the
Director of Professional Learning and Development for a Trust of schools. She
is an experienced English teacher and senior leader having been an Assistant
Headteacher in both grammar and comprehensive settings and a Vice Principal of
a large secondary school. Claire is the author of the popular book Rosenshine’s Principles in Action: The
Workbook. Passionate about improving the life chances of young people
through evidence-informed practice, she also facilitates the NPQLT and NPQLTD
as well as delivering training and keynotes for education-based organisations.

Why this webinar’s important: Data from the 2023 annual report of The Education Policy Institute in the UK highlights the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers which widens as pupils make their way through school. The post-pandemic gap for reception-aged pupils widened in 2022 to 4.8 months – the largest since 2014.
