Aim: This webinar will explore the core purposes of the role of trust lead for safeguarding, exploring the role’s importance in scaling up safeguarding and child protection strategies across the trust – including the development of effective policies and staff training programmes.

Rationale: Multi-academy trust (MAT) leads have a pivotal responsibility in ensuring that all schools within their trust create a safe and secure environment for their students, staff and other stakeholders. Safeguarding is of course a central aspect of this responsibility, and the overall lead for safeguarding is a crucial role within any trust as it aims to protect vulnerable individuals from harm: the post-holder must have a thorough and well-honed awareness of their various responsibilities.
