Aim: This webinar will provide expert guidance on how to implement the statutory reception baseline assessment (RBA). It covers preparing for and administering the RBA, avoiding potential pitfalls, addressing parental concerns and objections, and using results and observational assessment to refine your curriculum in line with pupils’ needs.

Why this webinar’s important: The Standards and Testing Agency has updated its statutory guidance concerning arrangements for the RBA. Described by the DfE as “an activity-based assessment of pupils’ starting points in language, communication and literacy, and in mathematics”, the RBA must be carried out by schools within six weeks of pupils starting reception classes. It is imperative, therefore, that educators are equipped to prepare for, administer and analyse the results of these assessments.
