For: Leaders, SENCOs

Aim: This webinar will provide you with advice and practical guidance on fulfilling your duties as special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) in the new academic year, aligned with statutory government guidance, including ‘Keeping children safe in education’, the ‘SEND code of practice 0 - 25 years', and new criteria established by the National College for Teaching & Leadership (NCTL).

Rationale: On 5 July 2023, the NCTL published the ‘National award for SEN co-ordination learning outcomes’, which establishes learning outcomes for the mandatory qualifications that SENCOs must achieve within 3 years of taking up their post. The document identifies priorities which should enable SENCOs to fulfil the leadership role set out in the SEND code of practice.
