Aim: This webinar will provide you with expert insight into Ofsted’s music subject report on the quality of music teaching in primary schools in England, based on findings from routine inspections. The document provides recommendations for high-quality music provision, and complements our webinar on Ofsted’s research review series: music.

Why this webinar’s important: On 21 September, Ofsted published ‘Striking the right note: the music subject report’, which evaluates the common strengths and weaknesses in the schools inspected, and considers the challenges that music faces. The document explains that music, when taught well, “gives pupils the opportunity to make music, think more musically and, crucially, become even more musical”.
