This webinar, delivered in collaboration with Music Mark, will provide headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders, teachers and practitioners with insight into the findings of the DfE’s Music education: report on the call for evidence, which is part of ongoing work on a refreshed National Plan for Music Education.
The DfE has published a report which summarises responses to its public consultation on music education which took place in spring 2020. The report also outlines the government’s own response and sets out its next steps in the fulfilment of its vision that all children should be able to learn an instrument, make music with others, learn to sing and progress to the next level of excellence.
In this webinar, Bridget Whyte of Music Mark will explain the context within which this consultation took place, explore the findings of DfE’s report, the wider evidence, and expected implications for the future delivery of music education both inside and outside the classroom. Music Mark is a membership organisation, subject association and charity which advocates for a government-supported, high-quality music education for all school-aged children.
