Webinar Duration: 44 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on integrating individual subjects into a broad and balanced primary curriculum which facilitates education recovery.

After disruption to education in recent months, schools will continue to consider how to adjust their curriculum so that it aligns with Ofsted’s expectations as defined in the School Inspection Handbook, and also addresses gaps in knowledge and learning loss, in accordance with DfE non-statutory guidance.

In this webinar, Dr Katy Bloom, Senior Lecturer and School Learning and Teaching Lead, will provide a definition of the term ‘broad and balanced curriculum’ based on its context within government guidance, and explains how schools can adjust the curriculum to ensure that it prioritises gaps, misconceptions and insecure knowledge, particularly where these might present difficulties in mastering the next stage of a curriculum subject or accessing other subjects.
