This webinar will provide nursery managers, practitioners, early years teachers and early years support staff with a clearer understanding of the Prevent duty within the EYFS – and the accompanying multi-agency programme, Channel – and how they can be implemented to protect very young children.

On October 24, the Department for Education published new guidance on understanding and identifying radicalisation risk in education settings. The Prevent duty, of course, is part of the statutory training for all settings and it is important that all staff fully understand and feel confident acting on the guidance – from understanding the risks to being familiar with the various stages of a potential intervention plan.

In this webinar, experienced Prevent coordinator Elizabeth Kitto discusses how Prevent and Channel can form part of an early years safeguarding strategy, and what early years practitioners can do to help shield young children from dangerous extremism.
