Aim: This webinar will provide you with expert guidance on practising learning walks around your nursery or early years setting in preparation for an Ofsted inspection. It will help you understand how to use learning walks to evidence curriculum intent, implementation and impact aligned with the EYFS statutory framework, and also to reflect on your professional practice and develop a deeper understanding of your setting’s strengths and areas for development.

Why this webinar’s important: The‘Early years inspection handbook for Ofsted-registered provision for September 2023’states that “inspectors will complete a learning walk around the premises with the provider or their representative early on in the inspection”, to help inspectors understand how early years provision is organised. Regular practice in learning walks can help all staff become used to being observed and answering questions, and help managers identify gaps in teaching and learning.
