This webinar will provide senior leaders, teachers and practitioners with expert insight into how to promote a balanced approach to play and leisure in line with DfE’s health and safety expectations, exploring how outdoor play can impact children’s learning, wellbeing and development.

On 5 April 2022, DfE updated the guidance ‘Health and safety: responsibilities and duties for schools’, explaining how pupils should be able to play freely in the playground and participate in sports whilst managing the health and safety of all pupils and staff, in line with the HSE guidance on children’s play and leisure.

This webinar will explore the risks associated with outdoor play provision and advise schools on how to create safe and engaging play opportunities, whilst reiterating how government requirements for outdoor play provision can be met, supporting positive child development.
