On the 2nd July, the DfE released their ‘guidance for full opening – schools’. It provides all schools and specialist post-16 settings with a detailed plan of what key measures should be implemented to help ensure children and young people are able to return back to school safely and allow for as full a curriculum as possible.

The guidance states the DfE’s expectations and outlines the key principles that underpin their advice on curriculum planning. It sets out specific points of interest from EYFS to key stages 4 and 5, with a focus on delivering prime areas of learning to address gaps in progress and providing extra support to help catch up on content missed whilst continuing to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
