On the 2nd July, the DfE released their ‘guidance for full opening – schools’ including successfully delivering DfE's expentations on catch-up curriculum. It provides all primary schools with a detailed plan of what key measures should be implemented to help ensure children are able to return back to school safely and allow for as full a catch-up curriculum as possible.

The guidance states the DfE’s expectations and outlines the key principles that underpin their advice on catch-up curriculum planning. It sets out specific points of interest for EYFS to key stage 2, with a focus on delivering prime areas of learning and addressing gaps in progress whilst continuing to deliver a broad and balanced catch-up curriculum.

The guidance also references the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) report ‘COVID-19 Support Guide for Schools’, which stresses the importance of professional development in order to support catch-up curriculum planning or effective use of technology.

In this webinar, Maggie Parker will provide senior leaders, headteachers, curriculum and subject leads with practical advice and guidance on how schools can best prepare for a September return, catch-up curriculum and successfully deliver DfE expectations on curriculum.
