This webinar will provide governors, headteachers, DSLs and teaching staff with an understanding of the impact of online sexual abuse and practical guidance on how schools can react and respond to online sexual abuse which fosters a whole-school approach.

Exposure to online sexual abuse can have a detrimental impact on children’s mental health and wellbeing, including anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress. Making sure they feel comfortable enough to disclose abuse and have the right support in place to help them deal with any trauma is everyone’s responsibility and absolutely essential to their recovery.

In this webinar Jayne Bullough, Training and Prevention Coordinator for the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC), will discuss various forms of online sexual abuse that children and young people can be exposed to, key principles in responding to disclosures and how to implement a whole-school approach through prevention and cultural change.
