This webinar will provide headteachers and senior leaders with expert insight into findings from Ofsted's independent review of the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) in schools, which can be used to inform and enhance tuition in specific settings.

On 26 October 2022, Ofsted published its Independent review of tutoring in schools: phase 1 findings. The NTP provides additional support to children and young people affected by the pandemic, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, so that they can catch up through high-quality tuition. The review sets out findings from the first phase of Ofsted’s study.

In this webinar, John Rees, RSHE subject matter expert with over 25 years’ educational leadership experience, will explain the background to the NTP and Ofsted’s review, and undertake an analysis of findings, identifying key considerations in planning, implementation and assessment which can impact the effectiveness of tuition, and the characteristics of ‘strong schools’ which, in Ofsted’s estimation, are delivering the most effective programmes.
