This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on teaching about climate change and sustainability, with specific focus on their link with the world’s oceans.

The oceans produce half of the world’s oxygen, regulate climate and temperature, provide food and water, and are the world’s largest ecosystem, but, as underlined in the UN’s Sustainable development goal 14 ‘Life Below Water’, ‘decades of exploitation have led to an alarming level of degradation’, and action is needed to conserve and sustainably use this essential global resource.

In this webinar, Russell Arnott, marine biologist, oceanographer, award-winning communicator, author and YouTuber, will explore the link between oceans, climate change and sustainability, and explain how schools can use the world’s oceans as a means of exploring climate change and sustainability issues and solutions at secondary level.
