Aim: This webinar explains how to provide tuition for pupils through the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) in the academic year 2023/24, aligned with new DfE guidance. Tutoring can help schools narrow the attainment gap and improve academic outcomes for primary and secondary school pupils who are deemed disadvantaged.

Rationale: On 23 May 2023, the DfE published new guidance ‘National Tutoring Programme: guidance for schools, academic year 2023/24’. The publication provides information for school and trust leaders on how NTP funding can be spent on delivering targeted academic support. Strong evidence suggests that such support “can make several months’ difference to academic progress”.
