This webinar will provide headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders and teachers with an understanding of the new Model Music Curriculum (MMC) and how schools can use the guidance to deliver a rich and diverse music education for children at key stage 3.

On the 26th March 2021, the DfE published their ‘Model Music Curriculum: Key Stages 1 to 3’ guidance to support the teaching of the statutory curriculum in schools. The document identifies the core concepts that are needed for pupils to progress in their study of music and demonstrate how pupils can build their understanding of these concepts from year 1 to year 9.

In this webinar, Stephen Burnage will explore how the guidance has been designed to help schools deliver music lessons of the highest quality and sets out a clearly sequenced and ambitious approach to teaching which supports pupils to develop a life-long love of music and musical performance.
