This webinar will provide headteachers, principals, governors, teachers and senior leaders for wellbeing and pastoral support with an expert insight into and practical review of Australia’s national mental health and wellbeing strategy for children which schools are expected to adopt.

On 12 October 2021, the Australian government launched the world’s first ‘National Children’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy'. It aims to provide a long-term vision for how Australia should universally support the mental health and wellbeing of all children and is the first time any government has developed a strategy that considers mental health and wellbeing outcomes for children from birth to 12 years of age, as well as their families and communities who nurture them.

In this webinar, mental health and wellbeing expert, Dr Lyn O’Grady, explores what the impact of the strategy will be on schools, how it is likely to shape future policy and what measures can be put in place to help support its implementation.
