The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) reports that an effective approach to mastery learning can, on average, lead to an additional five months’ progress, although admit that making mastery learning work successfully is challenging. Whilst there is no single established view or definition of mastery, what is known is that it is connected with the concepts of shallow and deep learning.

In this webinar, Paul Carney, teacher and nationally recognised, NSEAD-registered art consultant, will explore the concept of teaching for mastery in art & design, highlighting the benefits that effective mastery teaching can deliver, and explaining how teachers might set about developing and achieving mastery in the classroom.
