This webinar will provide leaders and practitioners with an understanding of and expert insight into recognising masking and fawning in children in the early years, and what steps can be taken to help support their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

The EYFS statutory framework states that children should be supported to manage their emotions and develop a positive sense of self as part of their personal, social and emotional development. Masking behaviours and fawning in order to please others can stifle a sense of identity and ultimately take its toll on how children feel and their overall wellbeing.

In this webinar, Catrina Lowri, qualified special needs teacher, experienced SENCO, and creator of Neuroteachers resources, explores the concepts of masking and fawning in the early years, how practitioners might recognise the signs and how to respond to potential concerns.
