This webinar provides senior leaders, designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) and staff with practical guidance and support on raising online safeguarding concerns with respect to self-generated intimate content and what to expect in the event of a disclosure from a child or young person.

It is illegal to possess, distribute, show or make indecent images of children (under the age of 18) and share private sexual images without consent. Although most children and young people aren’t creating or sharing these types of images and videos, the potential risks are significant. Schools need to be able to respond swiftly and confidently to make sure children and young people are safeguarded, supported and educated.

In this webinar, Thomas Stead, a DSL with 10 years’ experience in the public and private education sector working alongside child protection and online safety teams, provides an overview of what self-generated intimate content is, steps to take in response to an incident and how to support pupils and parents following a disclosure.
