Aim: This webinar will look at the current picture of students’ mental health and its impact on school life, specifically in the independent sector. It will highlight some of the different anxiety disorders and risk factors in young people and suggest strategies that schools can adopt to support them.

Rationale: According to new research published ahead of Children’s’ Mental Health Week 2022, the vast majority of staff in UK schools (95%) have witnessed increased levels of pupil anxiety since the start of the academic year. The survey also reported an increased prevalence of other mental health issues among pupils. Understanding what anxiety actually is and how it can present in children and young people is key to meeting the increasing need for additional support.
