This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors and trustees with guidance and support on conducting admission appeals in a fair and transparent way, aligned with new DfE statutory guidance.

The DfE’s ‘School admission appeals code 2022’ came into force on 1 October 2022, and applies to admission appeals submitted on or after that date. The statutory guidance sets out how schools and colleges should organise and run their pupil admission appeals, and should be read alongside the DfE’s ‘School admissions code’.

In this webinar, Adrian Gray, former inspector, Ofsted evaluator and academy trust consultant with extensive leadership experience, will highlight the salient points of the new guidance, providing insight into procedures relating to the appeals panel, hearings, how decisions are reached, the admission of twice-excluded pupils and recent trends in admissions and appeals.
