Research by The National Deaf Children’s Society identified that ‘only 1 in 20 teachers think the education system supports deaf children’, providing them with the opportunity to fulfil their potential. It also found ‘deaf children already achieve an entire grade less at GCSEs’ despite deafness not being a learning disability.
