This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, Ofsted leads and governors with an understanding of the inspection principles, criteria and processes of Ofsted’s newly updated Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Inspection Framework and Handbook, to help enhance training outcomes and ensure compliance in the event of an inspection.

On 15 December 2021, the DfE updated the ITE inspection framework, which sets out why Ofsted inspects ITE providers, and the inspection handbook, which explains how Ofsted collects evidence and makes judgements. The updates provide further clarification and align content with other government guidance and initiatives.

In this webinar, Matt Bromley, education writer & adviser with over twenty years’ experience as teacher, headteacher and principal, will explain what ITE providers need to know and do to ensure compliance with the current ITE inspection framework and handbook, identifying key priorities for inspection which have the greatest impact on the trainee’s development and on overall ITE.
