This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors and HR staff with advice and practical guidance on inducting and supporting new staff in further education (FE) and post-16 settings to smooth the transition into their new role and education environment.

The DfE’s ‘Further education college workforce analysis’ reports increasing attrition rates in further education settings, with 53% of teachers in 2014/15 no longer teaching after 5 years. Provision of effective induction and support can help new members of staff get off to a positive start, so that they feel a part of the team, whilst ensuring that they are provided with all the information, training and resources they need to fulfil their new responsibilities.

This webinar will explain how FE and post-16 establishments can design and deliver effective staff induction and support processes which meet the specific needs of their setting, combining provision of documents and resources with face-to-face conversations, to ensure that new members of staff have opportunities to ask questions and establish working relationships.
