This webinar will help governors, leaders, head teachers and SENCOs to understand what Ofsted will inspect around their current provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The new Ofsted EIF states that Ofsted will:

  • Look to make a judgement on whether leaders have devised a curriculum that gives SEND children and young people the needs, knowledge and cultural capital to succeed in life.

In addition, the House of Commons Education Committee ‘Special educational needs and disabilities report 2019’ recommended that:

  • There must be greater oversight and a more rigorous inspection framework with clear consequences for failure. There should be a greater focus on SEND in school inspections.

In this webinar, SEND subject matter expert, Karen Pilling, discusses Ofsted’s SEND inspection criteria and the type of evidence they will look to collate around your setting’s approach to SEND.
