This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders and governors with expert insight into the government’s terms and conditions for education and childcare funding for Ukrainian children who have entered England via its Homes for Ukraine scheme.

On 23 August 2022, the government published new guidance ‘Homes for Ukraine education and childcare grant conditions of funding’, in which it sets out eligibility criteria and allocation and payment arrangements to local authorities for the financial year beginning 1 April 2022.

This webinar will highlight the salient points of the government guidance, explaining how the funding can be used, how rates for children and young people are determined, and how and when funding is paid to local authorities, and then made available to schools.

Outcome 1:

Gaining insight into the government’s terms and conditions for education and childcare funding under its Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Outcome 2:

Gaining insight into terms and conditions regarding carrying forward funding to future financial years, certification and overpayments.

Outcome 3:

Understanding the allocation of funding according to each phase of education and the timeline and process for payments to local authorities.

Outcome 4:

Appreciating eligibility criteria and examples of how the funding can be used, for example, the funding of places in education and childcare settings and central provision of community services.

Outcome 5:

Appreciating that variation from the terms and conditions must be requested by the school or local authority and is at the sole discretion of ESFA/DfE.
