Aim: This webinar will provide you with expert insight into the role and responsibilities of the link governor, with practical advice on working effectively with leaders in educational settings to understand how strategic objectives are being met, money is being spent, and particular issues are affecting delivery.

Rationale: The Governance handbook and competency framework underlines the importance of ensuring that a member of the governing body, i.e. a link governor, has specific oversight of key areas of school or college life, such as safeguarding, (including the Prevent Duty) and SEND so that the governing board can fulfil its legal duties. Governing boards may also assign the role to other areas, including the curriculum, data and assessment, finance, health and safety and staff wellbeing.
