Aim: This webinar will explore the role and responsibilities of governorship in relation to the Independent Schools Standards Regulations (ISSR). Our expert will consider what best practice looks like and suggest a variety of ways to evidence this at inspection.

Why this webinar’s important: It is imperative that the governors of independent schools are familiar with the ISSRs. This set of standards, of course, represent the criteria against which independent schools are externally assessed (by Ofsted or the ISI). More specifically, several of the standards themselves – such as ‘quality of leadership in and management of schools’ and ‘suitability of staff, supply staff and proprietors’ – directly address and examine the role of the governors or proprietorial body.
