The Maternity Teacher Paternity Teacher (MTPT) Project ‘Family Friendly Schools’ reports that 60% of teachers are aged between 30-49, many if not most of whom are also parents, and that 30% of teachers quit after 5 years in the classroom. By adopting a ‘family-friendly’ approach, schools can create more inclusive and supportive working environments which benefit not only individual members of staff, but also the workforce, pupils and the school as a whole.

In this webinar, Emma Sheppard, founder of The MTPT Project, the UK’s charity for parent teachers, encourages schools to consider the needs of employees who are parents and carers, and explains how schools can develop family-friendly employment practices.
