This webinar will provide school leaders, teachers and practitioners with an expert review of how both the DfE ‘Development Matters’ and Early Years Coalition ‘Birth to 5 Matters’ curriculum guidance documents support the characteristics of effective teaching and learning as part of the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.

The revised EYFS framework becomes mandatory for all early years providers from 1st September 2021. In planning and guiding what children learn, “practitioners must reflect on the different rates at which children are developing and adjust their practice appropriately.” The guidance cites the three characteristics of effective teaching and learning to help practitioners focus on how children learn – the process rather than the outcome.

In this webinar Debi Keyte-Hartland, an early years expert and TEDx speaker with over 25 years’ experience in the UK and international education sector, will explore the three characteristics in more depth and discuss aspects of both Development Matters and Birth to 5 Matters which can help schools to deliver effective teaching and learning through the early years.
