Aim: This webinar provides expert insight into the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s recently updated guidance on how multi-academy trusts can manage the threat of fraud. It explores a trust’s responsibilities and discusses options for a risk management strategy and fraud response plan.

Rationale: On 20 June 2023, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) issued revised guidance, updated for 2023, to help academy trusts reduce the chance of falling victim to fraud (including online fraud). This refreshed document also offers direction on how trusts should deal with instances of fraud, should they occur – encompassing how (and when) to report fraud, theft or other types of financial irregularities within the trust to the ESFA.
