This webinar will help headteachers, managers and designated safeguarding leads in early years settings to put into practice the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), to facilitate young children’s personal, social and emotional development, helping in turn to enhance safeguarding provision and ensure compliance.

The DfE’s Statutory framework for the EYFS underlines the importance of personal, social and emotional development, and sets the early learning goal that young children should develop the ability to build relationships, showing ‘sensitivity to their own and to others’ needs’, reflecting government guidance on EDI and British Values.

This webinar will provide insight into statutory and non-statutory guidance around EDI in early years, and identify actions settings can take to create positive classroom spaces which celebrate diversity and difference and promote the wellbeing of all, using scenarios to explore appropriate intervention in specific circumstances.
