Aim: This webinar will provide you with expert advice and guidance on identifying and engaging reluctant writers in secondary school classrooms, with practical strategies to remove barriers to progress in writing, as part of a holistic approach. 

Rationale: The DfE’s Research review series: English states that, according to research, “motivation to write, and a classroom and school environment that promotes it, is correlated strongly both with pupils’ attitudes to writing and their skill as writers”. An understanding of the reasons why pupils might be reluctant to write can inform an effective writing strategy, enhancing progress not only in writing but across all curriculum subjects.
