Webinar Duration: 53 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, managers, leaders, teachers and practitioners with practical guidance on encouraging physical activity and movement to support physical development, also providing rich opportunity for learning, and helping settings to fulfil their statutory duties.

The Statutory framework for the EYFS establishes physical development as a prime area of learning and development, and affirms that physical activity is ‘vital in children’s all-round development, enabling them to pursue happy, healthy and active lives’.

In this webinar, Sarah Cummins, Montessori theory practitioner with 20 years’ experience as a teacher, SENCO and headteacher, will explain the importance of physical activity and movement as an essential element of young children’s overall progress, and identify a range of experiences and physical activities to support physical and intellectual growth and enjoyment of the world around them.
