Webinar Duration: 1 hour 9 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, managers, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on building the foundations of emotional literacy so that young children are able to identify different emotions and understand the feelings they evoke.

Gaining insight into one’s own emotions and understanding and respecting those of others are key aspects of personal, social and emotional development, the foundations upon which pro-social behaviour and friendships are built, and also a prerequisite for academic attainment.

In this webinar, Anna Bateman, subject matter expert on mental health & wellbeing, who has worked in an advisory role for the DfE, explains how the concept of emotional literacy can be introduced in early years settings so that young learners can begin to understand and manage emotions – bringing benefit to the classroom and contributing to pupils’ future wellbeing.
