Michelle Gabriel is the HR director of a multi-academy trust with over 14 years’ experience of delivering added value HR and consultancy to schools and academies across the West Midlands. Michelle has experience as an employment lawyer in the private sector, as well as supporting SMEs. Michelle is also a workplace mediator and workplace coach.
In her current role as HR director, Michelle has created and embedded the trust’s first People Strategy and associated People Plans with her centralised People Directorate. This focuses on areas such as Learning and Development, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. She continues to lead on a number of added value projects in support of the mission to become an “employer of choice”.
Michelle delivers regular People Management training for senior leaders and is an accredited Safer Recruitment Trainer. Prior to this, Michelle provided consultancy employee relations support for a wide range of schools, with a focus on employee relations, and Learning and Development.
