At National Online Safety, we provide multi-award-winning online safety education for the whole school community. It’s our mission to make the internet a safer place for children. We believe that when children go online to learn, communicate or play, they should be able to do so safely. That’s why we provide schools all over the world with the knowledge they need in order to tackle new and evolving online risks.
Digital Personality
Personality goes a long way, they say - and that's certainly true in the digital world. Where we go and what we click online shapes our subsequent experiences on the internet. This five-minute watch explains why our digital personality matters... more than we might think.

What is a digital personality?
It’s tempting to believe that traveling around the internet is anonymous, but this is not the case. Your online movements are tracked, collected, and analysed for reasons that range from the benign to the sinister. It’s quite legitimate for a website to want to track its users to ensure that traffic flow is optimised. To remain free, sites often provide tracking data to third parties at which point your clicks can be subtly influenced by algorithms trying to sell you things or change the way you think.
